On March 24, 2022 the IALEIA Jamaica Chapter held a virtual meeting attended by approximately sixty-five (65) participants locally, regionally and internationally. The Welcome and Opening Remarks were delivered by IALEIA Jamaica Chapter President Major (Rtd.) Dave Anderson. Remarks were also made by IALEIA Chapter Director Mr. Philip Powell. 

A Presentation was made by Senior Analyst at the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) entitled “An Overview of Cybercrime and Cybersecurity in Jamaica”. The Presentation dived into definitions of cybercrime, examined the global impact of cybercrime, explored cybersecurity in the Caribbean, explored the scope of cyber-crime and cyber-enabled crime in Jamaica from 2009 to 2022, Jamaica’s cybersecurity response, measures for the way forward and provided cybersecurity tips. 

Additional Chapter matters were then discussed and the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Robyn Deleon.

The date of the next IALEIA Jamaica Chapter meeting was scheduled.
